  • Hello you. I'm the 36-year old Managing Director of Future Platforms. We make lovely things for mobile phones, for lots of people you've heard of (Microsoft, Hasbro, the BBC, Nokia, Channel 4) and many you won't have come across.

    When I'm not doing that I read a lot, write here, and practice Aikido. I live in Brighton, a seaside town on the south coast of the UK.

Tom, you and Barnara got it right - the application should really follow the underlying UI methaphor/behavior... From the developer's perspective, initially it seems such consistency is the right approach, as developers are deploying the same app across many devices... but in reality, the typical end-user won't, and having applications change such behavior just confuses things...
