About Me

  • Hello you. I'm the 35-year old Managing Director of Future Platforms, a software company which creates delightful mobile experiences. We work for lots of people you've heard of (Nokia, the BBC, Orange, and EMI) and many you won't have come across.

When I'm not doing that I read a lot, write here, and practice Aikido. I share my home in Brighton, a seaside town on the south coast of the UK, with four cats and a badger.

Great mini post Tom, I couldn't agree more. What a lot of people don't really get either (I think) is that making an app for an iPown is only necessary when you need access to the iPowns device functions;GPS/Camera etc. Very few web players need that, and yet there are I don't know how many iPown specific *sites* there are out there. What's wrong with good XHTML that renders properly in the iPown Safari? Is there a good reason to make iPown specific sites? I may very well just be being dense so please do let me know what you think.
